A major project of the OAFs conducted principally by OAF Prof Falvey through 2016 and 2017 was the production of a book on the history of agricultural education in Victoria from the perspective of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Melbourne. Beginning in the 1870s and continuing until the Faculty was again renamed to become the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Science in 2014, the history integrates other institutional contributors to agricultural education over 13 decades. These included notably: the colleges of the VCAH – Burnley, Dookie, Gilbert Chandler, Glenormiston, Longerenong and McMillan; La Trobe University School of Agriculture, and Marcus Oldham College. The book is presented in chronological groupings of Deans leading the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Melbourne with the impacts of other institutions detailed within relevant eras.
Details for obtaining a copy of the book will be loaded here in due course.
